Checklist for an Amazing Winter Wedding.

India is a land of diverse cultures, communities, languages, religions, and ethnicities. However, one thing that all of us have in common is our desire to enjoy any social event to the fullest. One such event is the wedding ceremony, wherein family members, friends, and others gather to bless the newlywed couples. While a wedding can take place at any time of the year, however many prefer the winter wedding as it offers a more conducive atmosphere for people to gather to enjoy the event. For the wedding vendors in India, the winter months are considered the peak of their season. If you want to organize it during the winter season then you need to have a checklist that you must follow religiously. In this article, we have penned some points that were shared with us by one of the top destination wedding planners in Delhi for an a hassle-free winter wedding.

Choose a single location

You should hold your wedding ceremony and reception in a single location to minimise the travel time that may be disrupted due to bad traffic.

Extra time

If it is not possible to organise their wedding ceremony and the reception in a single location, then you must have provision for extra time in the planning stage so that nothing goes amiss.

Buy winter accessories

Keeping oneself is comfortable is extremely important, especially for the bride who is decked up with all the fineries. The harsh cold weather can make your lips blue and your fingers numb, therefore, you must have lace gloves, a velvet cape, or even a faux fur stole that will not only look very chic but will also keep you warm and comfortable.

Lighting

During winter the darkness fell quiet early, therefore you must have beautiful lights that can include fairy lights, candles, or lantern to light up the hall where you are organising the wedding ceremony all the reception. Furthermore, good lighting not only creates a festive décor but also makes the venue warm and welcoming for the guests.

Keeping the guests warm

As most of your guests will arrive at the wedding venue wearing coats, you must have a cloakroom ready where they can be safely stored away. You must have a tea or a coffee stall wherein the guests can have a piping hot beverage to keep themselves warm and entertained during the ceremony. If the place where you are organising the marriage ceremony is in the colder region, then having a room heater installed in the wedding venue is very important to keep everyone comfortable.

Give the photographers adequate time

You should give your photographers adequate time so that they can take those amazing pictures when there is plenty of natural light. To do this you can ask the photographer to take the ‘first look at the couple’s portraits’ before the ceremony. You can also ask your photographer to share some of their suggestions so that you can incorporate them in your wedding planning (addition of some special lighting for effect exposure) for pin-sharp.

Keep the food warm

You must have small stoves placed under the trays of the prepared food so that your guests can enjoy warm food that is essential for a winter wedding.
